Cast and Crew of "The Last of the Mohicans"

1992 Made-for-TV Movie Adaptation

The 1992 made-for-TV movie "The Last of the Mohicans" was based on James Fenimore Cooper's 1826 novel of the same name. It was directed by Michael Mann and starred Daniel Day-Lewis, Madeleine Stowe, Russell Means, and Eric Schweig.

James Garner, Judith Ivey, Laurence Fishburne, and Ruby Dee also appeared in the film. Garner played the role of Chingachgook, a wise old Mohican chief. Ivey played Cora Munro, a beautiful and courageous woman who is kidnapped by Magua (Fishburne). Fishburne played Magua, a ruthless Huron warrior who is determined to destroy the Mohicans. Dee played Uncas, Chingachgook's son and a brave and noble warrior.

The film was a critical and commercial success. It was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and won two Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Drama.

The film is a powerful and moving story about the struggle between good and evil. It is a timeless classic that continues to entertain and inspire audiences today.
